Marshall Area Special Olympics

Who We Are

Special Olympics is a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, a world in which every single person is accepted and welcomed regardless of ability or disability. We are helping to make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place—one athlete, one volunteer, one family member at a time.

The Marshall Area Special Olympics has over 80 athletes ranging in age from 4 to 70 years old. We offer opportunities for our athletes to engage in community activities, be part of a team, and develop social, emotional, and physical well-being.

We offer opportunities in a variety of activities including Respect Camp, Unified Flag Football, Wellness Program, Therapeutic Horse Riding Program, Bowling, Sounds of Summer Parade, Basketball Skills, Powerlifting, Aquatics, Track, and Bocce.

What We Do

Through activities and sports, our athletes are seeing themselves for their abilities, not disabilities. Their world is opened with acceptance and understanding. They become confident and empowered by their accomplishments. They are also making new friends, as part of the most inclusive community on the planet — a global community that is growing every day.
